My name is Ayeisha Garland and Post 224 Drill Team became my life on October 25, 1995. I always loved watching the steppers drill when I was little, and I would dream of being in the spotlight and running things one day. I started drilling even though I was scared at the age of five. I really got into it quicky and I found that I am really good. I became a leader at the age nine. I had to call the steps, get the girls in line, and had to be the top of the pyramids. I was always encouraged to do my best in school because I would want to drill in comptetion. I've been drilling for 12 years and I don't plan to stop. I've been thought the good and bad with my drill team and that's why I call them my family.
Hi, my name is Khalil Lizzimore, I am a drummer for Post 224.I enjoy being apart of this drill team. Its like my second family. I dont know where my love for drumming came from, I was just always in love with music. I always use to hear the drummers in the gym playing. So for me to be playing for them, was like a dream come true. When I was 12 years old, I became a drummer and by 13 I was a captain. I was the youngest one running my line. I was determined to get better and better. The drill team gave me a chance to see other states and cities. We had our up's and down's, but when it came down to it, we got the job done.
